Poor Penelope!

The fella brought home two new hens a couple of weeks ago. At Phelans suggestion, we named them Penelope and Phoebe.
Phoebe spends most of her time hiding from the other hens

While I have moved Penelope to the milking does pen because she was being terrorized by the other hens.
Poor thing!The other hens pulled all her tailfeathers out and now she looks kinda like a very bedraggled and tiny ostrich!

She seems content in with the goats, so I think I will let her stay in there until she gets some more size on her.

I belong to a couple of chicken discussion boards and we have all had problems with one hen getting pecked on by the others.Seems to have no rhyme or reason to it. The best solution most have had have been to temporarily separate the pecked hen so she can recover and get more confidence and gain a little weight.
We'll see how it goes.
