I have been teaching the Girl to bake bread from scratch and she is catching on pretty well! I have TRIED to teach them both to put up tools when they are done with them...but first I think I have to teach the fella to do that! I like the laundry thing you did with yours. Will start that this week, I think! Already gave them the job of cleaning their own bathroom DAILY. If that bathroom is not clean when they leave for school, they get up a half hour earlier the next morning so they will have time to clean it.Lambhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04083153173061255844noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7981381083323491763.post-46205597467114477452011-04-13T21:46:59.989-05:002011-04-13T21:46:59.989-05:00Hmmmm... Or hubby for that matter.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7981381083323491763.post-16009274211343939712011-04-13T18:07:44.484-05:002011-04-13T18:07:44.484-05:00Spring is the only time I can say I really ENJOY c...Spring is the only time I can say I really ENJOY cleaning. I do what has to be done week to week, and have been known to lurch into turbo-cleaning mode when faced with company on short notice. But this is the time of year I actually WANT to clean. Open windows, scrub said window frames and glass, deep clean bathrooms and dust all those hard to reach places.

I think that's great you're letting Boy and Girl take the reins in the kitchen once in a while. I did that with my two when they were that age ...as well as make them responsible for their OWN laundry. They each had a designated laundry day and if they didn't do it, they had to wait a week. If they started it on their day, they had to FINISH it on their day ...wash/dry/fold/put away. No exceptions. It taught them valuable life skills AND a little appreciation for good ol' Mom!
